Legal and Supervisory Department
The Legal and Supervisory Department of the Ministry of Sport, as
other units such as departments and offices in the structures of the
Ministry of Sport, performs the statutory goals of the Ministry. The
supervision performed by the Minister of Sport is, however, not only
limited to spending of the ministry’s funds. The ministry also oversees
the activity of unions and the compliance with legal acts e.g. the Law
on Associations, the act on championship sport, the act on physical
education, as well as the statutes of Polish sport unions and
regulations. The activity of the Department is related to the
preparation of programmes controlling the subordinate units and to the
monitoring of the execution of post-control recommendations.
Other fields in the competence of the Department include legislation
activities as well as the participation of the department employees in
the work of the Seym and the Senate during consideration and adoption
of draft normative acts and issue of legal opinions and information on
problems of entities active in the world of sports.
