Investments
The task of the Department of Sports Infrastructure is to stimulate
effective and balanced development of sports facilities in Poland.
The Department prepares long-term and annual “Programme of
investments with special importance for sport”. The Department performs
the tasks of the Minister of Sport as the manager of assets of the
Physical Fitness Development Fund (originating from surcharges on lotto
rates) i.e. co-finances the modernization, maintenance and construction
of new sports facilities specified in the “Programme of investments with special importance for sport” and in the voivodeship programmes of sports facility development.
The tasks of the Department include monitoring of the current status
and development of sports facilities and the collection, processing and
publication of data in this scope.
To maintain high standards of new investments, the Department
prepares and updates the guidelines for sports facility design. The
Department also cooperates with the Polish Committee for
Standardization and with the Polish Centre for Testing and
Certification in the scope of safety and certification of sports and
recreation equipment.
