Career Development

The tasks of the Career Development Department include:

1. Training of Physical Fitness and Sport Personnel

1) Granting the minister’s consent for training coaches, sports instructors and sport managers to units other than higher education facilities;

2) Granting the minister’s consent for training of active recreation instructors, sports instructors for the handicapped and instructors of biological regeneration to units other than higher education facilities;

3) Approval of base training programmes for instructors and coaches in a given sports discipline and for sport managers;

4) Approval of framework programmes of courses and teaching staff for coach, instructor and manger training;

5) Consideration of motions related to the waiver of the requirement of a minimum secondary education level when applying for instructor qualifications;

6) Consideration of motions related to the waiver of the requirement of a minimum secondary education level when applying for qualifications of II class coach;

7) Issue of documents certifying coach, instructor or sport manager qualifications;

8) Keeping records of issued coach and manager diplomas as well as instructor certificates;

9) Conducting inspections of courses and issuing relevant recommendations;

10) Establishing the organisational and legal conditions for training of coaches and instructors;

11) Undertaking actions to create new forms of coach training.

2. Recognition of qualifications obtained abroad

Recognition of qualifications to perform regulated professions in the field of physical fitness and sport pursuant to the act of April 26, 2001 on principles of recognising qualifications acquired in European Union member states in the scope of performing regulated professions (Journal of Laws no. 87 item 954).

3. Keeping a Central Register of Professional Qualifications.
